In 2016, the U.S. Department of State hosted its sixth annual Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF) project competition. This year, alumni from more than 137 countries submitted 829 project proposals. The 61 winning teams in 51 different countries will receive grants of up to $25,000 each to support projects that focus on themes such as climate change and environmental protection, refugee resettlement, empowering women and girls, youth entrepreneurship and employment, and access to education.
