Thanks to his experience in the Community College Initiative Program, in one short year, Alvi has revolutionized the way farmers across Punjab, Pakistan are growing bitter gourd crops by using organic and low-cost measures that increase plant yields and fruit quality.
As a Fulbright Scholar, Dr. Farhed worked with Temple University's Dialogue Institute on the 2008 Fulbright Interfaith Community Action Program to bring together ten religious leaders, scholars, and community leaders from Saudi Arabia, India, Israel, Indonesia, Pakistan, France, Malaysia, Lebanon, England, and Burkina Faso.
A year after her IVLP, Daniela has connected her two passions—empowering women and advocating for their security and respect for their human rights—by founding and registering the NGO “Soy Mujer” (I am a Woman).
