Own it, Care it, I'm loving it!

The most basic living thing in nature is plant, which is the main aim of this project in educating kids about the term ?nature?. Theoretical understanding is never good enough in environmental education; hence, providing them hands-on experience is the best approach. Letting them to own a plant and taking care of it instills sense of responsibility and appreciation in them towards living things. Apart from that, this project also provides basic knowledge about science and nature in a fun and rewarding way. A potted plant will be given to each kid for duration of a year. At the beginning of the project, kids will be introduced to the basic needs of plants, the functions of the plant, and obviously, how to take care of the plant. Kids are more likely to stay interested in gardening if they can help grow indoor plants that look interesting and require less complicated work. Educators will be assigned to guide the kids throughout the gardening period. Kids will report their observations throughout the growing period of their plants, which could also assist the educators on how well-received the project is to kids in achieving our objectives.
