Empowering Unemployed Youth with Green Entrepreneurship (AEIF 2012)

This project aims to reduce youth unemployment in 5 principal cities around Ethiopia by equipping 50 unemployed youth and 10 youth association leaders with theoretical and practical knowledge of green entrepreneurship. The major foci of the training are: the basics of entrepreneurship, innovative production and marketing skills, leadership skills, networking skills, urban agriculture, indoor and outdoor beautification with plants and flowers, urban solid waste management, promoting herbs and medicinal plants, and promoting fruit trees and vegetables.

Preparedness and Volunteerism in Rural Thai Communities (AEIF 2012)

This project provide rural villagers in Thailand with access to disaster preparedness information ND raise general awareness of natural disasters that commonly affect the country and thereby reduce damage and loss from natural disasters.. Furthermore this project will promote volunteerism, community service, and strengthen alumni relations with rural communities.

Introducing Young people to Green Economy (AEIF 2012)

The project will motivate and build capacity in Colombian youth from the most bio diverse and margin areas of Colombia ? Choco on the west near the Andes and Pacific Ocean and Amazonas in the south- to work on environmental productive projects as a step to green economy and social inclusion. The team will accomplish this goal by: identifying environmental youth leaders and creating four ecoclubs, or youth environmental groups, training local environmental trainers; designing and implementing pilot environmental productive projects and facilitating youth exchanges.

EcoHab Lab (AEIF 2012)

EcoHab Lab is a training initiative will test small scale urban upgrade projects. EcoHab Lab will provide training that will prepare youth with technical skills in design, material production, and construction so they have the capacity to take incremental steps towards upgrading substandard or degraded conditions in their community. The training program responds to four interrelated and interdependent issues in Rio de Janeiro: the preparations for the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games that have drastically transformed the city?s underserved communities; the high and increasing housing deficit; the lack of urban upgrade programs to streamline the process of community inclusion, project execution, and technical training; and the recent discoveries of offshore ultra-deep fields of hydrocarbons have promoted the growth and development of the oil industry, especially in Rio de Janeiro.

"ADOPT A PARK" - Reality Show and Green Academy for Environmental Actions (AEIF 2012)

This project seeks to raise awareness among young people about the environmental challenges facing Macedonia; increase the level of personal responsibility on the part of local businesses and young people; and improve the urban areas with concrete eco-actions. This will be accomplished through a three-phase program which includes comprehensive environmental education "Green Academy" program, a "reality show" in which teams will work to transform an urban area in front of a restaurant or caf into a green space, and a "Green Fair" to raise public awareness.
