Over Coming Social Inclusion Barriers and Securing Equal Economic Treatment for Roma Farmers in The Plovdiv Region of Bulgaria

For 18 years the Land Source of Income Foundation has successfully helped Roma families in the rural areas of Plovdiv, Bulgaria to create / develop small family vegetable farms. Due to barriers of social inclusion, these Roma farmers sell their produce at 30% to 50% under fair market prices. This grant proposal seeks to develop strategies for economic equality for the small Roma farmer - it is both a social justice and marketing problem

“Social Innovation and Transformational Entrepreneurship Forum - Yucatán 2018” (FISET) is an international Higher Education strategy developed by Coventry University and Universidad Tecnológica Metropolitana (UTM), including the collaboration of EIDOS, the Latin America and Caribbean Centre of the London School of Economics and MakeSense Mexico; supported by the British Council to enhance student employability through an international partnership for entrepreneurship programmes. On the 5,6,7,8 and 12 of November students, academics, higher education authorities, government authorities and relevant decision making authorities in the south-east of Mexico participated in a multistakeholder forum designed to strengthen skills in entrepreneurship and social innovation, interchange ideas for transformational change and build alliances for future collaborations.

Approaches to Improving Urban Environmental Quality in the Kyrgyz Republic

Develop a plan for research on modernizing analysis of health effects of urban air pollution in the Kyrgyz Republic. This would be designed by adapting approaches of the US Environmental Protection Agency (2), and experience in other post-Soviet countries. This would lead to recommendations to the Kyrgyz State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry, for improvements to their analyses of pollution and health.
