Poland
Human Rights and Social Inclusion of Vulnerable Populations
Research shows (Centre for Public Opinion Research, 2007) that only 45% of people in Poland positively vision the attitude of Poles towards people with disabilities. The project would hopefully influence students' attitudes in order to help them become more tolerant and understanding. Studies show that more and more students with disabilities are choosing inclusive or mainstream schools. However, schools and teachers are often not prepared to welcome those students. They do not know how to discuss disabilities with other students. This may cause students being stranded. The project will mostly focus on training teachers from kindergarden and elementary schools, as we believe the discussion should begin with young learners. However, we will also aim at students at older ages. We also see that the resources are not adjusted to students with different needs, therefore, we are going to translate a book (described below) for children into sign language (with audiobook being developed).

Also, the campaign would include children with difficulties to share their problems and to educate others about differences and difficulties and how to live with them.
