Global Engagement Forum with YALI Network

The United Nations recently launched the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), providing the foundation for action to address some of the world’s most difficult challenges over the next 15 years. This is a tremendous opportunity to harness the capabilities of the private, public, and social sectors, catalyzing and accelerating action to make progress against these goals. Pyxera has an exciting, free, opportunity that will bring you and your colleagues into a worldwide conversation on the Global Goals and tri-sector partnership.

On November 12, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm Eastern Time, the Global Engagement Forum Broadcast will bring together leaders and innovators from across the public, private, and social sectors to discuss how best to collaborate to move the important work of the goals from aspiration to achievement. If you are a Mandela Washington Fellow in Washington D.C., and would like to participate in person, please contact Matt Clark (mclark@PYXERAglobal.org).

You can join the broadcast and Twitter chat by hosting a Meet-Up for your fellow alumni as part of this global conversation. Organizations and academic institutions are encouraged to engage their staff, members, students, and faculty through local meet-up gatherings around the world.

If you register as a meet-up host by November 4 for the event on November 12, you will receive recognition during the broadcast. This includes placement of your logo on the PYXERA Global website and in promotional materials that will be shared with the media prior to the event.

There is no cost to participate, and if you register by November 4, you will also receive a discussion guide to facilitate conversations during and after the event. Attached you’ll see a one-page document that overviews some of the themes that guest speakers will cover during the broadcast. You’ll also see what is required of you as a meet-up host: it’s as simple as registering here, providing a physical space for folks to gather, setting up a screen or projector on which to view the live-stream of the broadcast online, and facilitating a discussion (guide provided). People can join the discussion online using Twitter hashtags #SDGforum and #GlobalGoals.
