A J-1 Alumni Network in the Czech Republic is now open to any previous or present J-1 Visa Program participants. The network was created by J-1 alumni interested in keeping strong ties with the J-1 community and the U.S. With about 3,500 Czech students participating in the J-1 Summer Work and Travel Program every year this alumni network offers many possibilities and opportunities for Czech alumni to connect with businesses and provide mentoring and social interactions for J-1 alumni.
This new J-1 Alumni Network conducted its first-ever event, a 5K fun run for charity, the morning of Sunday, May 15, 2016 in Prague’s Park Vítkov. Almost 30 alumni of summer work and travel programs to the United States came to run, network, and exchange stories about their time spent working as camp counselors, lifeguards and in other jobs during their summer vacations in the United States.
