2011 YALI Alumna Grace Chirenje has capitalized on her experience and continues to serve as a leader for young women promoting peace and political empowerment. Through her organization, Zimbabwe Young Women's Network for Peace Building (ZYWNP), she helped mobilize 500 young women through community dialogues to register to vote in 2013 elections. This effort was part of 16 days of activism organized against gender-based violence as part of a partnership with other community based and religious organizations. Through these partnerships ZYWNP successfully conducted civic education using interactive methods to teach communities on electoral processes and how to be more politically engaged.
