Mentor Talks: Bringing your Authentic Self to Work
In honor of Indigenous Peoples’ Day in the United States, join us to hear from Josh Eggington, aka ‘Flewnt’, award-winning Noongar Wongi hip hop artist, activist, America’s Got Talent Quarter Finalist, and IVLP ExchangeAlumni on MentorTalks.
In early October, Josh joined us on Instagram Live to share about his dedication to projecting the voice of Aboriginal people through hip-hop, his career in music with his eldest son, INKABEE, and his experience visiting the birthplace of hip hop during his international exchange.
“Going to the place where the first block party happened…[and] meeting with some of the pioneers…it was just a really life-changing trip, and something I’ll cherish forever,” Josh said.
“Hip hop permeates so many parts of our lives all over the world, and [this experience] lit a fire in my belly to spread that beautiful culture.”
In this episode, Josh also shares his journey into hip-hop and community activism, as well as how his Aboriginal identity has fueled his work. Learn more, including what leaving a legacy means on Instagram now.
