UBING (Unity Builders In the Nation and Government)

UBING (Unity Builders In the Nation and Government) literally means "child" in ilocano dialect. They are the target clienteles in this volunteering organization founded by the SEAYLP spring 2012 participants from the Ilocos Region of the Philippines. They had reached out 4 remote communities already by bringing in volunteer kids ages from 13-16 by teaching youngsters both in and out school youth from far flung communities where technology is scarce. Through this, the children are exposed to what volunteering and reaching out to the deprived people really is. It is an actual engagement to the people where the government is far from their hands.

"I Discover Kyrgyzstan" Cultural Exchange and Professional Internship Program (AEIF 2012)

This project aims to alleviate ethic tension through an internal exchange program, where the participants will have an opportunity to understand cultural and regional differences, reduce negative stereotypes, and open lines of communication. These participants will join a network of young leaders throughout the country which will help them develop professional and networking capabilities. This network will allow youth to bond as countrymen rather than letting geography divide them. Additionally, these youth will be given to opportunity to advocate for inter-ethnic, inter-regional tolerance and respect for cultural diversity.

RED2021-GLOBAL YOUTH VOLUNTEERING NETWORK

RED2021 is a forward-looking 10-year network that was formed and launched at the 2nd World Summit for Youth Volunteering, creating connections between and globally mapping the personal and organizational commitments of youth volunteers and their organizations and employers. RED2021 is a vehicle that will allow participants to remain connected, inspired and mutually accountable to creating measurable impact in their communities. Today, youth increasingly gain the skills they need for the future through volunteer service. Service teaches values, job skills, social integration, environmental protection, and community development ? all necessary to an increasingly interconnected world across cultures and ethnicities and spanning the development spectrum. RED2021 is a collective commitment by corporate and youth, for youth, to build a more informed, connected and accountable global youth volunteer community. RED2021 will create the connections youth volunteers need to enable them to reach out for the support and guidance of others on these issues and many more.?

Creating a Francophone African Peace Network (AEIF 2012)

The project seeks to engage young people and women in promoting peace, democracy, and citizenship in the regional group of 5 francophone West African countries with a targeted training program in Senegal. The main activities include networking and alerts, mass awareness raising, producing a guide booklet, and training trainers in awareness of and promotion of democratic rights and ideals.

Urban Environments in Transition: Engaging Young Leaders and Raising Community Awareness through Multimodal Narratives (AEIF 2012)

This project will guide an initial group of 20 students from two Greek universities in engaging with their changing urban environments through a number of mentored, hands-on and community-centered activities. The students will use multiple media (photography, film, video, audio, installations, online platforms, etc) in combination with self-reflective/creative writing activities and interviews with community members. The project seeks to enable young leaders to engage in conversation with community representatives, boost their intellectual and critical engagement with real-life issues, and encourage them to take initiatives for raising public awareness in an effort to promote understanding between diverse groups.
