Call for Sponsors for the realization of a community resilience project in eastern DR Congo.

Expiration: June 30, 2023

My community in eastern DR Congo faces a serious problem, which is the difficulty of social and economic integration of young people affected by armed conflict. The country has been at war for several decades now, this situation leads to the displacement of populations and slows down agricultural and livestock activities, which are the main economic activities in the province of North Kivu for example. And young people are the main victims in particular because they have remained idle and almost naive, because young boys are easy prey for the militias and armed groups very active in the region, but also young girls are exposed to pregnancies and early marriages etc. Many obstacles hinder the socio-economic integration of these young people, in particular the lack of skills and professional experience, the inadequacy and poor diversification of the training offer, the weakness of traditional apprenticeship, the lack of opportunity etc. These obstacles are even greater among young girls but also in rural areas where economic markets and value chains are very poorly developed and structured.

In order to support the socio-economic integration of young girls and boys affected by armed conflicts in eastern DR Congo, my organization "Amani-Institute ASBL" will carry out awareness-raising actions in local communities on the importance of the economic empowerment of young people for local development and will implement safe and quality professionalizing initial training for their intention and capacity. Support measures (childcare, flexible hours) have been put in place to allow all young girls who become mothers early to participate.
Through these short-term training courses, in real work situations, young people will acquire technical and entrepreneurial skills and develop soft skills that will enable them to carry out an economic activity linked to the local economy. At the end of their training, these young girls and boys are accompanied by their community until their integration into active life in groups or individually.
The training courses are determined following an analysis of training needs in consultation with the beneficiaries and local actors (municipalities, families of the beneficiaries, family farms, economic actors, etc.) and taking into account the security situation. . The project also develops activities enabling young people to acquire life skills through education, personal development and the development of an entrepreneurial spirit.

support Youth Employments through Agriculture

Expiration: February 2, 2023

While Liberia’s economy has not fully recovered to pre-war levels (prior to 1989), its population of about 5 million continues to grow at a high rate. As a result, the country is faced with the twin challenge of a particularly large youth population (over 70 percent are below the age of 35), and a pervasive lack of job opportunities. This leads to high level of vulnerability among youth. Only 3.5 percent of youth ages 15-24 have stable jobs in the formal sector. The majority are employed in the informal sector, either as unpaid family workers or self-employed. Moreover, rural areas face an additional challenge of persistent food insecurity. We think, providing young people with access to productive employment is critical to ensure economic recovery and stability in the country. Ours Project aims to increase access to income generation opportunities for young people in Bassa. Our project uses a community-based productive inclusion approach to provide economic and empowerment opportunities for youth living in both rural and urban areas. The project has a strong emphasis on youth economic empowerment. Additionally, one of the project components specifically aims to promote productive inclusion of rural youth. It supports them with life and business skills training, improved agriculture techniques, labor subsidies and farm. (to procure seeds and tools). This approach will help many extremely poor youths living in rural communities become self-sufficient while at the same time contribute to the development of their communities. We will work together with than to develop farms, grow and sell their produce, save proceeds for their own businesses, and support their communities in the process. We also believe this project facilitates transition to productive employment for youth who would like to open their own business and successfully transition into the labor market.

Construction/Revamping of Youth Training Center (Startup Capital)

Expiration: December 16, 2022

Since 13 August 2019 I have been striving to secure from Walvis Bay Municipal council a building that has been abandoned for over 25 years which became a dumping site within the community causing health hazard to community members that live close by. On 6 September 2022 through determination, persistence and resilience I was granted final approval to secure the building with extra portion of 1653 squares of land to construct Sage By Dee Entrepreneurs Academy as part of my long-term plan to establish a youth training center since we don't have one in our second biggest city of the country. This will be a life changing opportunity for our youth and community development to curb escalating challenges such as teenage pregnancies as early as 13 year olds, hunger, poverty, increasing crime and unemployment rate, lack of voice and exploitation. Sage By Dee Entrepreneurs Academy is established to improve opportunities for people in Namibia especially the creative individuals who are academically challenged because they are creative by nature and is unemployed. Sage By Dee Entrepreneurs Academy will ignite entrepreneurs for self-sustainability, self-confidence, inclusion and economic growth. We aim to bring about change and opportunities to our communities therefore aim to offer limited or newer services of creative skills courses and provide actual equipment/instruments upon completion of training to students to immediately start their entrepreneurial journey.
