The Laikipia Promise - Girls Education

Expiration: April 23, 2020

I have been serving as a board member of a public school in Laikipia County in Kenya for the last one year. During this time of service, I have organized several motivation talks and mentor ship programs for the schools and the the desire that the pupils have towards education is motivating. However, most of them come from very humble backgrounds and cannot afford the basic needs to keep them comfortable in school.

Some of the most lacking items includes; sanitary towels for girls, books for both boys and girls, lack of feeding program fee which in most cases is less than $3, lack of class materials such as board and chalks among others.

This has led to several cases of avoidable school drop outs which are very heartbreaking. I started a personal initiative to be helping such cases financially but this has become very overwhelming and I just realized I can't do it all alone due to lack of funds.

To ensure that there is continuity and that dreams are not shattered, I have decided to take this a notch higher by expanding the initiative so that I can also have a more diverse activities rather than case in point and random assistant. I have since then adopted "The Laikipia Promise" as my brand towards realizing this and I am in the process of registering it with the Societies and Community based organizations in Kenya.

I therefore require funds to run this and help young leaders and learners achieve their dream and in a environment where they never lack basic needs.

Looking forward for support!!

Thanks a lot
