WOMEN ABOVE THE COIN

This project seeks to address the problem of poverty which is very prevalent among women and girls in the local communities through skills acquisition trainings. This is intended to empower them with life changing skills that will sustain them, especially widows and young girls that dropped out of school as a result of early pregnancy. Many women had remained in an abusive relationship because of poverty since they do not have any means of livelihood nor skills that could sustain them economically. Also due to the constant clashes in various communities in Southern Kaduna between the Fulani herds’ men and the farmers, many women lost access to their homes and farm land. This has resulted to extreme poverty and hunger in these communities.
