Started in 2013, the program currently have over 500 alumni.
Sustainable Care: Connecting People and Systems
Expiration: November 30, 2021The project will last until 2021. Its aim is to analyse systems of caring in the UK and other countries. The specific focus of my work package is on supporting carers who are in employment. This will involve an analysis of organisational practices, government policies and the costs and benefits of supporting carers.

Expiration: March 11, 2019Grant being sought is to help out of school youth attain vocational skills to enable them become independent and reproductive as they prepare for adulthood. In a country where 60% of the population are below 25 years and 55% of them have no secondary education there is high youth unemployment which is a threat to public security and peace as when these youth have no productive activity they may turn to become violent and trouble makers. By giving them an opportunity to have a business activity it will help reduce the unemployment by making them job creators not job seekers.
Extension support for the communities
Description
I'm assigned for the Professional Development Experience with the University of Minnesota Extension to learn how a successful public institution is using its expertise to sustain communities needs in agriculture and food systems; clean energy; natural resources; resilient communities since 20 years . During the 3 days retreat to prepare an agenda, work models and goals for the next 5 to 10 years, I learnt how can we involve everyone in the process to build community .

Together with a friend, my job was to develop teaching resources for a seminar about biases in strategic decision-making. Moreover, I wrote my bachelor thesis for the company as part of the process of developing the seminar.

Funding for ICLP Academic Year Program
Expiration: August 18, 2018This is support for intensive Mandarin Chinese studies and a concentration on translation at the renown National Taiwan University's International Chinese Language Program (ICLP) for the 2018-2019 Academic Year Program. I have secured my place in the upcoming class, paid the class fee, and have applied all but the Fulbright (missed the early August deadline) I have only been able to acquire a fraction of the cost. I am extremely grateful that I have secured the HUAYU government scholarship for the first 6 months of my stay in Taiwan! However, the total program costs $13,000 while housing averages of $400-$600 per month to make a total of $15,000. Thus, my full tuition is uncovered.
I would greatly appreciate assistance of my dream of becoming a full time, ATA accredited, master translator of Mandarin Chinese who will bring these skills and entrepreneurial ideas to Detroit. I will continue to encourage others to embrace language learning and be aware of the growing translation and interpretation industry. I believe in giving back so I will gladly provide translation and interpretation assistance to the individual or organization upon my return.
