Creating familiarity among journalists and public health advocates can assure more effective media coverage of public health priorities, including vaccine confidence, and other aspects of disease prevention. My world-wide experience as a journalist and public health official as well as experience in these very workshops qualify me to partner with governments, multi-lateral organizations, academics, faith-based institutions, and the business community to strengthen media-public health relationships to mutual benefit of all involved disciplines. While Eastern Africa is specifically cited here, I have experience in conducting this work around the world.

Capacitating Teachers for Radio-Based Instruction as a Learning Modality in Time of Pandemic in Oroquieta City, Philippines

Expiration: January 15, 2021

IN THIS MOST TRYING TIME, EDUCATION MUST NOT BE IMPEDED. Quality education must continuously be delivered to its end recipient -- the learners. The youth, being the hope of our nation, should be well-educated despite this pandemic. Strategic planning of delivering quality service of educating them is our top priority without putting each one's health at risk. Hence, radio-based instruction is deemed appropriate in addressing this concern in our locality where internet connectivity is unstable. To progress on this idea, teachers in our division must necessarily be trained on the preparation, production, and dissemination of radio-based instruction. With this, if realized, thousands of students, educators, and stakeholders will benefit from this profound project-training.

FOR THE STUDENTS. Guided by the mental discipline theory, their brain must be exercised to activate full functionality. Hence, education has to continue despite the existence of COVID-19. Thus, radio-based instruction must be implemented to address academic freeze.

FOR THE EDUCATORS. To cater to the needs of the teachers in our division, this project-training aims to provide an avenue for them to deliver quality teaching. Hence, the process of teaching and learning is continued without risking one's health.

FOR THE STAKEHOLDERS. In this time of crisis, synergy is the key. To educate their children demands cooperation from them. With the radio-based instruction, students, teachers, and parents are indeed to collaborate. Hence, this advocates a win-win situation.
