My project would invite high school girls in a one-week GLOW (Girls Leading Our World) camp. The objective of the different camp activities would focus on building self-confidence, encouraging introspection, learning teamwork and practising leadership. The goal is to empower girls to take active roles in society and become leaders.

Building Life Project of Girls

Individual capacities of 1,000 female teenagers will be strengthened in order to help them with building their life projects. They will participate in workshops about self-esteem, entrepreneurship, dating violence, teenage pregnancy, sexual and reproductive rights, vocational counseling, among others. They will also write a plan of monitoring to achieve their goals.

Teaching IT Skills to Get Jobs

We want to facilitate getting jobs to young female workers, specially with disabilities, by training them in specific IT-related job skills. As part of a bigger project providing IT Bootcamps (this is, programming languages crash courses) we are requesting these funds to specifically support unattended sectors and guarantee equal jobs opportunities.

The cause are diverse and despite the policies in place the problem is worsening. We see in youth an opportunity to end GBV in Namibia.
