Young Volunteer Culture

Young volunteer Culture Is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a culture of volunteerism in the Dom. Rep., working with exchange students under the J1 Exchange Visitor Program that have experienced a culture of volunteerism in the US and have been empowered to make a change in their communities. YVC does a follow up with the students after they are done with their program and back to their countries keeping them motivated, connecting them with organizations that need their help and suits student interests and providing counseling to make their ideas into activities or organizations. We have developed YVC platform to connect the student with the organization based on the student's interests and time availability, The platform record their hours as a volunteer and the projects they have work on, so their curriculum can grow with them. The Big sister Kit Project

My City Tour

The My City Tour is a project initiated and implemented by Shoes2School Zimbabwe that targets to expose High school going students living in the rural areas of Zimbabwe specifically Matebeleland to the city life experience as a means of exposing and motivating the less exposed child of the bigger world outside their village experience through the provision of an educative and entertaining city experience.. The My City Tour initiative aims at creating a programme that allows the learners to experience a more advanced world that is outside their ordinary livelihood, through a 3 day city tour in Bulawayo that introduces them to a vital and yet necessary environment to improve their learning outcomes through horning their knowledge base and ambitions.

THE 2019 INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE PROGRAM INTENT:

1. The international exchange program is not a general overseas study program, but rather it has a primary purpose in selecting students who can act as leaders in the future among North Korean defectors and generate outcomes in increasing the students' leadership ability.

2. We wish to build on the foundation of the first and second trip and, to maximize the purpose of the program, and to broaden the students' perspectives through visits to new places other than Northeast Asia.

PROGRAM ACTIVITIES AND GOALS:

1. German students of the last 30 years are like our students, who have a history of division, albeit they have already been through overcoming the internal difficulties. Hangyeore students will learn how East and West Germany is unified and the process of unifying of the two countries, and plan to propose ways for unification of our country. Students will develop present alternative ideas for society taking into consideration stable unification.

2. The students will present ideas for the direction of Korea's future by experiencing German history as it reflects the learning outcome in the tragedy of World War II and Holocaust.

3. The program will provide an opportunity for youths who have escaped from North Korea to understand the history of division of the Korean peninsula and to promote the awareness of peaceful reunification as desired by all.

4. It will provide an opportunity for youths who have escaped from North Korea to experience an international connection, seeing developed countries like Germany, Switzerland and France while discovering grounds for optimism in global thinking and leadership.

*Hangyeore School is one of the official schools in South Korea focusing solely on North Korean defector students. It was founded in 1990 by the South Korean government and the Korean Ministry of Unification and was highly successful from the beginning. It has become a model school, attracting 20,000 visitors each year to learn from its curriculum and structure. Hangyeore currently has 160 students, whom it is working to educate as future global leaders.
