Self Advancement for Youth & Women in Malawi

Enhancing entrepreneurial innovation in Malawi through knowledge transfer. I believe businesses are the key to the economic growth of Malawi. However, SMEs are faced with unique challenges which threaten their contribution to their country?s economy - for example, inadequate technical and managerial skills, low standards for local products, lack of information for business start-ups and lack of vision and experience. Working together collaboratively I want to link consultants and businesses to find ways to combat some of these challenges. In combining the broader experience of the consultants with the local understanding of the business contacts, logical, pragmatic solutions can be reached. The community issue: women and youth that run businesses are not taking advantage of or do not know of new services and markets, thereby limiting their business growth and opportunities for economic empowerment. The solution: 10 youth and women operated businesses in Lilongwe and linked with marketing and business planning professionals. These professionals will assist in strengthening and improving the businesses bottom line through social media, market retention, market growth, value added products and services and help those businesses to develop business plans How: Leveraging mobile and internet allows us to speed up this process - to establish the opportunity for business professionals across the globe to collaborate and learn from each other, without the burden of heavy time commitments or cost. 1 hour weekly Skype or phone calls. We need volunteer experts in business planning, marketing, product design. If you want to be a part of this exciting project as a mentor please email jards.products@gmail.com

Youth Say NO to Plastic!

Everywhere all around the world, about 80% of products people use daily is plastic-made. People like to use plastic because it is cheap and convenient just because it is available everywhere, but not many of them aware how dangerous it is after the consumption. The products goes from plastic bag, plastic cup, plastic bowl, plastic dish, plastic bottle, plastic basket, plastic computer case, plastic shoes, etc. Once they are thrown away, they could not be recycled but dumped on the land field, into the river, or into the sea. The problem is these plastic products are not really thrown away and disappear. They will stick around to where they are for more than 100 years. Where would these plastic go when the consumption rises dramatically from day to day? We believe that today people did not really pay attention on the harm they bring to environment through their daily consumption of plastic products. Therefore, there is really a demand and need to bring the problem to people to realize that they need to do something to reduce their consumption.
