UBING (Unity Builders In the Nation and Government)

UBING (Unity Builders In the Nation and Government) literally means "child" in ilocano dialect. They are the target clienteles in this volunteering organization founded by the SEAYLP spring 2012 participants from the Ilocos Region of the Philippines. They had reached out 4 remote communities already by bringing in volunteer kids ages from 13-16 by teaching youngsters both in and out school youth from far flung communities where technology is scarce. Through this, the children are exposed to what volunteering and reaching out to the deprived people really is. It is an actual engagement to the people where the government is far from their hands.

Volunteer to Prosper Our Community (AEIF 2012)

This project will raise awareness of leadership, volunteerism, and community service among youth from 39 schools in the Rasht valley through a series of activities including a one day leadership and volunteer training, the establishment of volunteer clubs, a competition among the new clubs, a two month civic education course, a one week ?We are Volunteers? summer camp and two roundtables engaging local government and civil society.

RED2021 is a vehicle that will allow participants to remain connected, inspired and mutually accountable to creating measurable impact in their communities. Today, youth increasingly gain the skills they need for the future through volunteer service. Resilient Children and Competent Teachers: A Refugee Community Partnership (AEIF 2012)

This project will help improve the mental health and academic success of marginalized refugee children by training refugee teachers, directly in community refugee schools who will in turn mentor other refugee teachers in their community (?Refugee Teachers-Train-Teachers?). While 85% of the refugees in Malaysia are Burmese, alumni will train refugee teachers from all countries of origin (e.g., Burmese, Afghan, Sri Lankan).
