Project Citizen: Public Policy "Rescuing the Mapudungun" our mother language and insert it into the national school curriculum.

The project is to claim the inheritance of the world indigenous "ethnic" groups represented in the native chili to the incorporation of the educational area . Focused directly to students in primary, secondary and university education , developed in the first instance with grassroots indigenous knowledge, such as language Mapudungun , its main objective is insert it into the national curriculum as a compulsory subject within the educational establishment . ?The project proposes to ease the famous concept of discrimination , which is nowadays mainly point in educational debates, which is manifested in the increasing ridicule and false culture of the indigenous , that are essential in the formation of the disciple today as students of pedagogy. Our main goal is to educate man Chilean model within a standard universal man, since chile can not , now more than ever to abstract universality and cosmopolitanism ... Reason enough to be incorporated into the constitutional law of education teaching plans and curricula, emanating from universities who hold the concept of the universe and the ministry of education .

The emergence of the indigenous peoples in the continent in the last time, is a cultural element that it is necessary to recapture seriously, its presence both in educational and political contexts does of the same ones like the new social and cultural actors that is going to re-form the map of the both diplomatic and cultural relations in the internal and international ambience. Its visible presence has come questioning not alone public politics but also a scientific theoretical frame, it also questions the way of human coexistence and the concept of development that it?s managed at present. Chile is not alien to this reality the presence of the Araucanian, Pascuenses, Aymaras, Hullenche, Picunche and Alacalufe among others they finish to configure the human map of our territory, this signifies the need to take pending actions to fortify them as local cultures that have their own form to see the world, fact that currently is ignored.

Humenne Local Model European Parliament

The MEP simulates sessions held in the European Parliament in Brussels and Strasbourg. Participation in one of these sessions gives students an insight into the work of the European Parliament and other institutions. It also helps bring about a sense of European identity and citizenship. The working language during this two-day long session is English. Over 30 two-men delegations of the European Union member countries and delegations of the Observer countries meet to discuss topical political issues, which they have researched prior to the conference. They are debated at the General Assembly of the MEP. During the simulation, the participants will have the chance to learn about other countries' positions towards the EU and experience a truly international working environment. The Model European Parliament is much more than just a non-formal learning process focused on the European Union. Participants will have the possibility to practice and improve their negotiation strategies as well as to upgrade their English language skills. Moreover, they can experience a truly European atmosphere.

STOP, La entrada es la Salida

El proyecto, es una asociaci?n de j?venes de nueva creaci?n integrado por Diana Karen D?az Ramos, Mar?a Jos? Ruiz P?rez, Aldo Sa?l G?mez Parada y Jos? Williams L?pez Santiago, con el fin de prevenir a los adolescentes se inicien en el alcoholismo, que por diversos motivos son m?s propensos a involucrarse a esta enfermedad. Nos enfocamos en este tipo de poblaci?n porque San Crist?bal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico es una comunidad peque?a, la mayor?a de su poblaci?n es gente ind?gena y los estereotipos en este grupo de poblaci?n marcan que las personas de respeto deben de consumir bebidas alcoh?licas a temprana edad como s?mbolo de madurez, por lo cual nosotros somos la entrada hacia una perspectiva de ver el consumo de esta sustancia, que no hay necesidad de tomarse un trago para divertirse o de embriagarse para sentirse aceptado, pero antes de combatir con este problema social, tenemos que salir de todos esos estereotipos que marcan a nuestra comunidad. Con este proyecto esperamos que se reduzca el n?mero de j?venes que abusan del consumo de sustancias alcoh?licas. OBJETIVOS DEL PROYECTO: ? Crear una cultura de NO abuso de sustancias alcoh?licas entre los j?venes menores de edad de entre los 13 a los 17 a?os. ? Promover actividades culturales, deportivas y recreativas en los j?venes con el fin de no caer en el consumo de sustancias alcoh?licas. ? Concientizar y promover los valores a los j?venes sobre la realidad que implica el abuso excesivo de sustancias alcoh?licas.

Using multi-religious pilgrimage approach, participating youths will experience the sacred spaces of ?the others?. The Program focuses on problem solving, and will develop strategies addressing religious conflict.

Priority Grant Competition

The Priority Grant Competition supports nonprofit organizations working in or on Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, and Sudan. In addition, support will be provided for projects related to Arab World Political Transformation. It supports innovative peacebuilding projects involving research, the identification of promising models and effective practices, the development of practitioner resources and tools, the development and delivery of education, training and dialogue programs, and the production of films, radio programs and other media. The Priority Grant Competition funds activities that enhance mechanisms for advancing the knowledge and practice of conflict prevention, conflict management, and postconflict peacebuilding. The Institute gives priority to high-quality projects that are likely to generate findings that are accessible to policymakers and practitioners and/or that demonstrate promise of having a substantial impact in the targeted countries. Projects that result in findings made widely available to the public through published writings, manuals, curricular materials, web sites, documentary films, etc. are more likely to be funded than those that have limited impact. Funding is not available for degree work (payment of tuition fees or support for M.A. or Ph.D.-related work).

Iraq: Grantmaking in Iraq supports the capacity-building of civil society organizations, promotes peace-building and reconciliation, and strengthens the rule of law. Priorities include: - Promoting the rule of law; - Empowering marginalized groups, especially women, youth, Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), and persons with disabilities, to contribute positively to conflict management and peacebuilding processes; - Promoting inter-communal tolerance and conflict resolution through education and training initiatives; - Strengthening institutions to advance knowledge and understanding of sources of conflict and enhance mechanisms for conflict prevention, conflict management, Peacebuilding, mediation, and related activities. Proposals on Iraq that respond to the broader mandate of USIP are welcome. Priority will be given to grant proposals submitted by Iraqi civil society organizations on the topics above. capacities for conflict prevention and promote greater understanding of issues related to identity, tolerance, diversity, and sectarian extremism in Pakistan through education, training, research, and the media.

Arab World Political Transformation: The uprisings in the Arab world have threatened entrenched autocratic rule across the Middle East and North Africa, pushing the leaders of Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, and Yemen out of office and igniting violent conflict in Bahrain and Syria. USIP will identify and fund promising initiatives that will facilitate peaceful democratic transitions, strengthen the rule of law, and facilitate the inclusion of and better relations among minority, ethnic and religious groups.

Concept notes should fall within the following focus areas:

Knowledge & Education

Eligibility Criteria
The criteria for successful proposals are their relevance to the Arab Regional Office?s priority focal areas and their attempt to raise standards and promote new ideas in their respective fields.

Professional organizations, universities, NGOs, and other institutions are open to apply for support. The Arab Regional Office does not accept concept notes, or grant applications from individuals.

Once a grant is approved, the office places no conditionality or ?strings attached? on grantee recipients. Grantee reports are required twice annually or once a year to insure a grantees compliance with the terms of the approved proposal.
