Youth Now! 2015 Conference Sierra Leone

The Youth Now!2015 Conference aims at providing an opportunity for youth in Sierra Leone to interact with stakeholders (more especially public servant) in reviewing and assessing the implementation of the 2014 Mandela Washington Fellows Communiqu? developed by 500 young African leaders representing youth from throughout the African continent presented to African leaders, U.S. leaders, and youth and the subsequent National Program of Action for youth in Sierra Leone 2014-2018. The rationale of creating the Africa we want: ?A message from all Young African Leaders? at the 2014 Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, recommends collectively to African Leaders, U.S Leaders and youth on investing in the future, Peace and Regional Security and Governance and Citizens Participation Issues? shall be the focus of the conference. Stakeholders including government officials, politicians, civil society, youth organizations and women?s groups shall participate as speakers and participants in the two and half day conference. Furthermore, the Conference will arouse debate on successful interventions by the government in addressing youth issues. The Conference will also identify areas of follow-up actions in order to ensure that the African youth leader?s communiqu? is an integral part of the 2014-2018 national program of action for youth in Sierra Leone. The conference output will be a report that captures the richness of the debates, on the various topics, as well as the key aspects of the presentations and identified ways forward.

Training centre for peace and international law

In order to promote the peaceful means of conflicts resolution and to involve young african people in human rights advocacy, I plan to set up under my NGO, a training centre for peace and international law. The learners selected from differend backgrounds will include young people formally educated and those without a formal education. Sessions will focused on constitutional law; human rights and international humanitarian law; civic leadership; entrepreneurship; public management.

ONE WITH PEOPLE OF ALBINISM IN TANZANIA

People with Albinism in Tanzania are facing brutal extermination by superstitious people who think that albino body parts have charms and magic to make people looking for wealth to become rich; or for those who want to gain political power win elections.The people are allured by witch-doctors or magicians to believe so. As a a consequences, over 72 persons with albinism have been killed in Tanzania, more than 400 are suffering in different parts of the country with their limbs mutilated while hundreds of albino children have to lavish in concentration or protection homes away from ther parents.In several places, graves where albino dead were burried have been exhumed and bones taken. People with albinism live with fear of deaths. They are crying for help, for support, for human sympathy and for legal action to be taken. Existing regulations in the country are such that, people with albinism seem to be left out and so culprits have not been strictly arrested or justice for people with albinism is lacking.
