Citizen Diplomacy Action Fund

Citizen Diplomacy Action Fund for U.S. Alumni Funding Guidelines & Template Instructions You will submit 1) an itemized budget and 2) a budget narrative describing the purpose of the proposed costs and any sources of cost share. Use the provided template to submit your itemized budget. You will provide the budget narrative to justify expenses in the application. Recipients of Citizen Diplomacy Action Fund grants will be responsible for reporting expenses covered by the grant to Partners of the Americas. How do I fill out the itemized budget template? List all costs associated with your project in the appropriate categories of the budget template. Items/activities valued at $200 or more must be included in the itemized budget. Keep the following in mind when developing your budget:  All costs should be reasonable and relevant to the project.  If your project includes costs that are not allowed by the Citizen Diplomacy Action Fund guidelines, you must clearly indicate how these expenses will be covered by cost share.  All costs must be reported in U.S. dollars and a unit cost breakdown should be provided wherever possible.  The template includes formulas to automatically calculate totals for you. Call for Volunteers/Interns and Researchers

Creation Forum Afrika- Organisation located in Uganda Call for volunteers /interns/Researchers Found in South-western Uganda district of kasese in East Africa, Creations Forum Afrika is a young and vibrant not for profit organization working with rural and semi urban marginalized sections of communities that include youth, women and ethnic communities. Her areas of focus include Human rights, social cultural cohesion, economic empowerment, land and natural resource justice, civic empowerment among others. With support from Open Society Foundations, Creations forum Afrika is presently implementing a program aimed at promoting social cultural cohesion and human rights among the diverse ethnic communities in south western Uganda district of kasese. Her other recent projects include development of protection mechanisms for Grassroots human rights defenders in collaboration with the Centre for Applied Human rights (CAHR) University Of York Uk, Land rights campaigns and coordinating nonviolent peace building campaigns aimed at combating violent extremism as well as addressing the drivers of violent conflicts in south western Uganda Rwenzori sub-region and kasese in particular. Our partners include Kasese District Development Network (KADDENET), Open Society Initiative for Eastern Africa (OSIEA), Civsource Africa, National Coalition of Human rights Defenders Uganda (NCHRDU) and Centre for Applied Human Rights (CAHR) University of York UK etc. Creations Forum Afrika derives its success from the patronage of her partners, community and above all the commitment, dedication and passion of her team majority of whom are volunteers driven by the need to see positive change in their communities. This call therefore seeks to recruit international volunteers from the global North that are interested in contributing their time, passion and expertize for programs that create meaningful impact in rural and semi urban parts of the global south. Female and Girls Empowerment through Vocational Training and Job Placement

Consolation for Disabled Organization (CFDO) is one of Non-Profit Organizations which operates at the National level in Tanzania Mainland. Consolation for Disabled Organization was founded in 2014 and came to be registered on June 4, 2014 under the Non-Governmental Organizations Act, 2002 made under section 12(2) of Act No.24 of 2002 with Registration No.00NGO/00007222. CFDO is aware of and concerned about the problems militating against the welfare of people with disabilities in the country, their safety, food security, promotion for their rights as human beings, abuse and ending discrimination against them. Undertaking to support, promote and defend the fundamental human rights of all disabled irrespective of their status, gender, sex and nationality, religious or political belief. . VISION The disabled discover their potentials, explore opportunities and utilize resources for the welfare of their lives so that they become self reliant individuals who are recognized as among capable human resources in the society. b. MISSION STATEMENT Strategic execution of material and non-material assistance to the disabled in order to enable them tackle the obstacles to their social, spiritual, cognitive, physiological and psychological rights and development. c. OBJECTIVES The basic and general objectives of CFDO shall be to promote comprehensive development of the people within and outside the state laws of Tanzania through the means stated below: i. To encourage, and counsel the underprivileged, disabled and the brokenhearted ii. To initiate, organize and provide whatever corporeal and practical support to the disabled. iii. To introduce viable projects which may financially support the organization and progressive demands of the members. iv. To give special attention to the needs of the disabled including educational supports, income generation, treatment for their special physiological cases and general counseling. v. To provide education to the community members on caring for the disabled WHAT ARE WE DOING? The organization’s principal activities are to conduct seminars, conferences/workshops, fund-raising, educational support, provide assistance devices for disabled people, support playground items, support treatments, gender parity, life hood (Housing), provide food security, community mobilization, to support and boost sports program, to promote human rights, to provide water service in water – scarce areas, and reduce poverty and hunger in community To realize the mentioned objectives above, the organization undertakes a number of activities as listed below  Disabilities: Training on disability and disability inclusion, disability awareness creation through training and engagement with media, disability surveys/researches in different sectors (health, education, employment, elections etc), providing non monetary services to disabled people, capacity building to people with special needs.  Education: The CFDO provides education appropriate to the needs of the individual children. Through this education is given a higher priority and changes implemented at State level enabling all children with disabilities to access appropriate support and education in their areas.  Shelter/Housing: The CFDO intends to offer facility that houses and/or cares for disabled and elderly people who are unable to care for themselves and provides them with food. Shelter is a facility that provides short- or long-term housing as its primary services.  Child & Youth Development Program: Consolation for Disabled Organization provides services to assist in child & youth development outside of school. Services may include academic support (tutoring), sports, social rehabilitation, hygiene training, drug abuse prevention and/or life skills training.  Community Empowerment: This activity enables communities to take charge of their lives or to create change or provide oversight in the community. The focus of the change can be related to any number of factors including gender issues, human rights, safety, economic initiatives and more. For instance civic programs, women’s empowerment activities, neighborhood councils.  Healthcare: CFDO gives healthcare facility or program that provides for the health needs of the community and we provide supplemental food to patients who are mal- or under-nourished especially disabled people and elderly people. This program includes public health awareness, medical support or education programs as well.  Water service in water – scarce areas: The organization have a plan to provide water services around country to facilitate access of clean and safe water in water-scarce areas through construction of water wells and boreholes. The water scarcity program includes government healthcare facilities (Clinics, Dispensaries and Hospitals) as primary focus.  Vocational Training: The CFDO focuses on technical training or skills transfer. A program where students are taught trades and/or general life skills which contribute to successful employment and self-sufficiency. Examples include sewing, woodworking, cooking, nursing, agriculture, automotive mechanics and Micro-credit programs.
